Real beds. Real comfort. Real mountain air — without sacrificing an ounce of the wild that brought you here.
Most campgrounds along this stretch are scattered sites with thin tarps and questionable fire rings. Gold Basin was built differently — for people who refuse to choose between adventure and comfort.
We sit on private land surrounded by old-growth forest, just off the Mountain Loop Highway. No crowded pull-throughs. No shared water spigots. Just deliberate, well-designed outdoor lodging that lets the Pacific Northwest do what it does best.
Full hookups — power, water, and sewer — for rigs up to 40 feet. Gravel pads with tree cover and evening privacy.

The Mountain Loop Highway puts you miles from any streetlight. What you get instead is the kind of darkness that makes the Milky Way visible to the naked eye.
Creeks, rivers, and seasonal waterfalls thread through the surrounding forest. Bring a pair of boots and a curiosity — there's always somewhere new to find.
In July and August, the higher meadows explode with lupine, paintbrush, and Indian paintbrush. Easy day hikes from the campground bring you right into them.
Black-tailed deer, Roosevelt elk, black bears, and a surprising variety of birds call this corridor home. Keep your food stored properly and enjoy the show from a distance.

"We've driven the Mountain Loop a dozen times and always ended up at crowded state parks. Gold Basin changed everything. The cabin was immaculate, the deck was perfect for morning coffee, and we heard zero other people all weekend."
"Took our RV for a long weekend. The hookup was straightforward, the site was level and private, and the forest was so quiet I forgot we were only two hours from the city. Already planning the next trip."
"The yurt was such a nice surprise — we weren't expecting anything like this out here. Real bed, heating, soft lighting. It felt luxurious without leaving the woods. The kids still talk about the deer that wandered by at dawn."
Gold Basin sits on the Mountain Loop Highway, a scenic route that circles the north Cascades foothills. It's a winding road — plan for it — but the solitude and scenery at the end make every curve worth it.
